SueCreel  

Sue Creel, PT, ATC

Sue has expertise in the areas of orthopedic sports rehabilitation, neurology, back & neck injuries, hand injuries, women’s health and golf performance enhancement & rehabilitation. She received her undergraduate training at the University of Wyoming and received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. She has worked in both hospital and private settings.  Sue opened Acucare Physical Therapy, Ltd. in February of 1990 and the facility became a licensed BACKtoGOLF facility in 2001. Sue has been certified in the ASTYM system since 2001 and has used it on a variety of patients including athletes, orthopedic patients, and women’s health patients.

Sue is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, National Athletic Trainers Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  She is working towards becoming certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist as well as a Biofeedback Specialist.  She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling.  Sue has lectured extensively on Women's Health, and is a leader in the field.

     
SuzieFreeman  

Suzie Freeman, MPT, OCS

Suzie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from UCLA, then worked at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic performing research activities for the physicians.  She then moved on to USC for her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy.  She currently works as a Senior PT at California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy in Huntington Beach, California.  In addition to treating patients, she is responsible for marketing the practice to local physicians.

Suzie is also the Center Coordinator for Clinical Education and runs a competitive internship program on a year-round basis.  She was awarded "Clinical Teacher of the Year" by USC in 2004.  She received her OCS in 1994, and again in 2004, has lectured at the Certritos College PTA Program, as well as various Occupational Medicine conferences.  She was certified in ASTYM treatment in 2005, and has been using the technique extensively in her practice since then.

     
AmyGoddard  

Amy Goddard, PT, CSCS

Amy has owned her own private practice in Coppell, Texas, since 2000, and has been using ASTYM in her clinic on a wide variety of patients since 2001.  She specializes in treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries, and especially enjoys working with endurance athletes.
Amy graduated from Texas Women's University, School of Physical Therapy, with a Master of Science degree in 1995.  In 2011, she completed the Executive Program in Practice Management, earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, through Evidence In Motion Institute of Health Professions.  She became a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2011.  She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

     
Gus Gutierrez  

Gus Gutierrez, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Gus graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Allied Health in 1986. Since graduation, he has worked at BRPT-Lake, a multi-clinic private practice that specializes in the treatment of orthopedic patients and sports-related injuries.  As both owner and clinical director, Gus spends the majority of his time treating patients.  He received his Orthopedic Certified Specialization distinction in 1994 and then again in 2004.  In 1994, Gus completed the Gulf Coast Graduate Institute of Manual Therapy Residency Program, focusing on advanced evaluation and treatment of orthopedic conditions with the use of mobilization and manipulative techniques. After completing the 18 month program he received certification as a Level 2 Manual Therapist. He earned the prestigious Fellowship status in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Gus received his DPT from the Evidence in Motion Institute of Health Professions in 2010. He has over 25 years of clinical experience and working with athletes on all levels.  Gus has used ASTYM since 2001 on a wide variety of orthopedic patients.  He is also certified in Dry Needling, Kinesiology Taping and as an Active Release Technique practitioner for the upper extremity, lower extremity and spine.

     
Bob Helfst  

Bob Helfst, PT, MS, ATC/L, CSCS

Bob has been instrumental in the development, education, and research of the ASTYM system since 1993. Bob earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Sports Medicine from Ohio Northern University and a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis.  He has over 20 years of experience in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation and has managed clinics in Ohio and Michigan.  He has lectured at the University of Cincinnati’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program, Ivy Tech State College’s Physical Therapy Assistant Program, Indiana Wesleyan’s Athletic Training Curriculum and serves as adjunct faculty to the Ball State Athletic Training Curriculum.  His primary patient population is sports and orthopedics, but he also sees some neurologic patients and has been involved in sports biomechanical analysis and pediatric and adult gait analysis in conjunction with Ball State University’s biomechanics lab.  In addition to his patient care responsibilities, Bob provides performance enhancement training to teams and individuals.
     
Scott Larson  

Scott Larson, PT, MS, OCS

Scott is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he received a Master in Physical Therapy. His clinical expertise is in the treatment of orthopedic patients, particularly sports medicine and work-related injuries. He is a manual therapist and is Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association. He has over 15 years of clinical experience and has been certified in the ASTYM system since 2001.  He has lectured on workman’s compensation management nationally and locally for the last 12 years. Scott lectured in the past for Southeastern School of Nursing and has co-authored a clinical guidelines book for nursing students.  He owns and operates a private practice specializing in orthopaedics and industrial medicine.

     
David Rubsam  

David Rubsam, PT, OCS

Dave received his MPT degree from the University of Iowa in 1989, and has practiced in a variety of settings including inpatient rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient orthopedics, and as a contracted provider for a small hospital doing all phases of PT (inpatient, outpatient, care center, and home health).  Dave worked for a large hospital-affiliated clinic from 1996 to 2010, seeing a full range of orthopedic clients and including a large percentage of work injury patients--treated both in-clinic and on-site.  He currently works for a private practice group operating 3 clinics in Marion, Mount Vernon, and Center Point, Iowa.He received his Orthopedic Certified Specialist designation in 2001, and has lectured at the Kirkwood Community College PTA program and has taught in the Case Based Learning module at the University of Iowa.  Dave has been certified in the ASTYM system since 2003, and uses it extensively in his practice, particularly in the UE work injury population, but also for all areas of general orthopedics.

     
 

Sue Stover, MHS, PT, CSCS

Sue was the first therapist involved in the development of the ASTYM system and has been instrumental in all aspects of research, development, education, and marketing since 1993. She is currently the Director of Education for Performance Dynamics and is responsible for all components of the educational program for the ASTYM system, including the instructor training program. Sue continues to be involved in research, development, and marketing aspects of the ASTYM system as well.

Sue earned a physical therapy degree from Ohio State University and a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis.  She has advanced training in numerous areas of orthopedics and serves as a guest instructor at area physical therapy and athletic training programs.  She is also an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Sue previously managed inpatient and outpatient physical therapy at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

     
 

Noel Tenoso, PT, DPT, OCS, COMT, cert. MDT

Noel earned his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1988.  He currently owns Advance Sports & Spine Therapy, LLC in Wilsonville and West Linn, Oregon.  His patient load is primarily general orthopedics that comprises mostly of spine patients and sports related injuries.  He has been certified with the ASTYM system since 2005.  He earned his certified orthopedic manipulative therapist (COMT) through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 1997, Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) in 1998, and certification in mechanical diagnostic therapy (MDT) through the McKenzie Institute in 2006. He earned his transitional DPT in January 2008 also through Pacific University. 

     
NoelTenoso  

Scott Tilson, PT, DPT

Scott earned his DPT from Duke University in 2004 and has practiced in both private and hospital based settings.  He has been able to treat a wide spectrum of clientele from collegiate and high level recreational athletes to inpatient rehabilitation and acute care patients.  Since 2008 he was worked for Sutter Medical Foundation in Sacramento, CA in their outpatient clinic working with a general orthopedic population.  Scott has taken several long term manual therapy courses with Norwegian and Australian philosophies.  He has developed a strong interest in the foot and ankle and has given many community lectures for injury prevention and shoe selection for runners and the general population.  Scott has been successfully using the ASTYM system since 2006 for a wide variety of pathologies, particularly with lower extremity overuse conditions.

     
John Zanas  

John Zanas, PT, CSCS, PES

John earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Physical Therapy from the University of Washington in 1991.  He currently owns and operates a private practice in Snoqualmie, Washington, where he primarily treats orthopedic and sports related injuries and develops sports performance enhancement programs for athletes and teams of all ages.   He has been certified in the ASTYM system since 1997 and has a special interest in working with young athletes.  In addition, he serves as the strength and conditioning coach for Mount Si High School and a consulting therapist at Snoqualmie Ridge TPC Golf Club. He has advanced certifications in strength and conditioning through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the International Youth Conditioning Association.    He has lectured for the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association, the Washington State Hand Study Group and numerous youth sports organizations throughout Washington State.
